Chen Yiren, Assistant President of Zhongyuan Group, delivers his report of Development and application of marine recycled polyester.

Mr. Chen delivers the report into four parts.

1. Background introduction. Mr. Chen introduced the current situation of plastic marine pollution and emphasized the need to establish a certification mechanism, streamline recycling channels, and achieve timely collection, sorting, and reuse of plastic waste.

2. Mechanisms or projects related to marine plastic recycling. Mr. Chen introduced various mechanisms or projects related to marine plastic recycling, such as Parley For Oceans, REPREVE Our Oceans, UL2809 certification, BlueCycle, SEAQUAL, Prevented Ocean Plastic, and Youfu.

3. OBP and OC. Mr. Chen gave a comprehensive introduction and comparative analysis of OBP (Ocean-Bound Plastic) and OC (Ocean Cleanup). He covered concepts, classification, bottle sources, product applications, and pointed out that OBP is stricter than OC in terms of content requirements, supply chain transparency, and promotion.

4. Microplastics in the ocean and CiCLO biodegradable polyester. Mr. Chen first mentioned that microplastics in the ocean cannot degrade or be recycled. Then, he introduced CiCLO biodegradable polyester from the perspectives of degradation rate, products, applications, and highlighted its potential as a solution.
