The recycled polyester industry continues to operate under a fundamental supply surplus, with the industry primarily focused on absorbing new capacities commissioned over the past several years. Nevertheless, the outbreak of geopolitical tensions in Iran drove a sharp surge in crude oil prices starting in March, which triggered substantial price hikes across virgin polyester products. Leveraging prominent cost-performance advantages, recycled polyester filament yarn and high-quality close virgin re-PSF captured periodic substitution dividends amid the rally. By contrast, hollow conjugated re-PSF remained sluggish due to persistent weak downstream end-user demand.
Parallel to this market shift, structural transformation within the recycled polyester industry is accelerating rapidly. Capacity expansions for colored recycled PSF and wool-type recycled PSF are still underway.

Cutting-edge technological pathways including Textile-to-Textile closed-loop recycling, chemical recycling, and bio-enzymatic depolymerization are transitioning from laboratory research to industrial application, fundamentally reshaping industrial boundaries and competitive dynamics across the whole value chain.
